So I am at the start of another school year. I can't explain how amazing it feels to be going back to school and know more or less what the heck is going on! Last year I was so stressed in making sure I was doing my job that the smallest interruption in a schedule or a forgotten invite to a school meeting was upsetting. Now I know a little more about what to expect, have goals in mind and know how to approach them. I feel like I can give more to my school whereas I had to handle my own self also.
The first day started just like last year. The opening ceremony gathered all students and teachers in the front schoolyard where students performed dancing and singing and teachers received awards from the summer or previous year. It was exciting to see all the teachers I work with again since I hadn't seen many for three months. Later, teachers gathered in the cafeteria to share airag(fermented mare's milk), white foods (such as tasteless cheese and aarul, a yogurt candy), and candy. The first day doesn't consist of much class, but instead many retired teachers come back for that day to give small lessons. The week was great because I had my schedule by Wednesday which is honestly a rare thing for most semesters. I was able to meet with the director to get our shower project started and was happy to find out that we already have a room set up for it. It just needs proper investment and time. I feel very motivated about this year. Now that I've gotten my cultural adjustment out of the way I can give everything I have to my school. It's a great feeling.
but now i've seen it through
